Who Invented The Car Backup Sensor?

Here’s a good question for you. Do you know who invented the car backup sensor?

I bet you think it had to be Ford, maybe General Motors or another of the big American automobile manufacturers. Maybe you think it was one of the European innovators like Mercedes Benz, or annovation from a Japanese company like Honda or Toyota maybe.

Well, whichever car manufacturer you thought invented the car backup sensor, you were wrong. The car backup sensor was actually invented by a Chinese farmer. Would I lie to you? Hmmm… Maybe don’t answer that one…

Anyhow, as you are probably aware, most new cars now have a backup sensor that warns the driver before the rear bumper actually comes in contact with something.

Most people probably think that this valuable feature came out of the minds of engineers, but it was recently disclosed that the concept was first developed by a Chinese farmer. His invention was simple and effective. It emits a high-pitched squeal when the vehicle backs into something.

Here is a picture to prove it!
