A well respected surgeon was relaxing in his armchair one evening, not long after he had arrived home from a long day at work in the hospital.
As he was watching the evening news on television, the phone rang.
The doctor calmly answered the phone and heard the familiar voice of a colleague on the other end of the line.
“We need a fourth person for cards”, his colleague said.
“I will be right over”, the surgeon whispered.
As he was putting on his coat to leave the house, his wife asked him, “Is it serious?”
“Oh yes, quite serious”, the surgeon said gravely. “In fact, three doctors are there already!”
Who would have thought that doctors were so crafty.
