Two young children were sitting in church and young four year old Gary just wouldn’t stop talking and giggling during the service.
His older sister Geraldine, who was six, had been trying to sit quietly like she was supposed to, but her younger brother kept distracting her.
Finally she had enough of his playing around and told her brother off. “You are not supposed to talk out loud in church”, she said, “you are supposed to keep quiet during the service”.
“Why do I have to?” her younger brother replied, “Who’s going to stop me?”.
Geraldine pointed to the back of the church and said, “Do you see those two men standing by the door?”
Young Gary looked at them and rather sheepishly answered, “Yes”.
His sister replied, “You had better be quiet if you don’t want to get into trouble. They are hushers”.
