My son was over the moon on turning eighteen, as we live in a state where curfew is 11pm for anyone under eighteen years of age, so he was eager to be able to have more freedom when he went out with his friends.
He told me how happy he was that now that he had turned eighteen and he could stay out until 3am if he wanted.
I replied, “Yes son, you can stay out as late as you want, but the car is under eighteen and it has to be back in the garage by eleven”.
For some reason he wasn’t too impressed with that.
