One afternoon, three elderly ladies were sitting around the table enjoying a nice cup of tea.
The first old lady said to the others, “you know what, I think my memory must be going. Sometimes I find myself in front of the fridge with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand, and for the life of me, can’t remember if I was going to put it back in the fridge or if I was taking it out to make a sandwich”.
The second old lady chimed in saying, “you know, I think I have the same problem. Sometimes I find myself at the stairway landing, and can’t remember if I was going up the stairs or coming down them”.
The third old lady proclaimed, “well, I’m glad I don’t have your problems, knock on wood” and she rapped her knuckles on the table three times.
With that, she jumped up and said, “oh!, that must be the door, I’ll get it!”
