The sea battle was about to commence between a pirate ship and one of His Majesty’s “ships of the line”, the pride of the British Royal Navy, fast and bristling with cannon.
The pirate captain called to his aide, asking him to bring him his red coat.
When the aide asked why, the pirate captain replied, “If I get shot, the men won’t see the blood and they will keep on fighting”.
The aide praised the captain’s strategy and fetched the jacket for him.
Just as they were about to attack the Royal Navy ship and start the sea battle, a lookout yelled, “Captain, captain, it’s not one Royal Navy ship, there are 10 enemy ships!”
The pirate captain suddenly went very pale, called his aid and said, “Bring me my brown pants”.
