The Old Lousiana Farmer

Becoming a farmer was something that he had wanted to do for a long time, and now that he was retired, he figured that he had the time and the money to do just that.

The farm had a large pond in the back, which was bordered by a sheltering wood.

The pond was properly shaped and fully deep enough for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees.

One warm summer evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn’t been there for a while, to look it over and make sure there was no work that needed doing to it.

So, he grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit from the trees.

As he neared the pond, he could hear voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer to the pond, he could see that it was a bunch of young women skinny dipping in his pond who were making all the noise.

He slowly walked out from the trees and made the women aware of his presence, and they all retreated to the deep end of the pond.

One of the women shouted to him, “we’re not coming out until you leave!”

The old man frowned, “I didn’t come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked”.

Holding the bucket up in the air he said, “I’m here to feed the alligator”.

Some old men can still think fast, and the view he got that evening made a bit of quick thinking well worthwhile.
