Paddy and Murphy drive their pickup truck into a lumberyard.
Paddy walks in the office and says to the man on the desk, “We need some four by twos.”
The clerk said, “You mean two by fours, don’t you?”
Paddy said, “Just a minute, I’ll go check”, and he went back to the pickup truck to consult with Murphy.
He returns a minute later, and says, “Yeah, I meant two by fours”.
“Alright”, says the clerk, “How long do you need them?”
Paddy pauses for a minute, and says, “I’d better go check”.
So off Paddy goes to the pickup truck again to consult with Murphy.
After a while, Paddy returns to the office and says, “We will need them a long time. We’re gonna build a house”.
