The foreman on the contruction site ordered Paddy to dig a hole eight feet deep, so Paddy set about digging the hole.
After the job was completed, the foreman returned and explained that he had made an error and the hole wouldn’t be needed after all. “Fill her up again, Paddy” he ordered.
Paddy did as he’d been told and filled the hole back in, but he ran into a problem. He couldn’t get all the dirt packed back into the hole without leaving a mound on top.
He went to the office and explained his problem.
The foreman snorted at him, “Honestly! This is the kind of help you get these days! There’s obviously only one thing to do Paddy. You’ll have to dig that hole deeper!”
