There was a highway service area which was located on a main road that led to the beach.
In the summer, the pump attendant was used to seeing tired and sunburned occupants in the cars that pulled in to fill up with fuel after a day out at the beach.
One day, a rusty old station wagon pulled into his station to get some fuel. Inside was a very tired looking couple and seven screaming children.
The pump attendant tried to use small talk to help cheer up the occupants.
“I hope you had a good day at the beach! Nice looking kids there. Are they all yours, or is this a picnic?”
Wearily, the driver relied, “Yes they are all mine and it is NO picnic!!!”
