As a fanatic when it comes to decorating the outside of my house for Christmas, I thought this had to be the greatest Christmas decoration ever. Having completed my latest masterpiece outside the house, I stood back and admired my handiwork and thought to myself, “That’s going to be the talking point of the street”.
The good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, the bad news is that I had to take this one down after just two days.
I love having people drive along our street at Christmas, just to see the decorations that I have put on the house and this year I had more people come to see my house than ever.
This was all great, however two things forced me take my prize Christmas decoration down.
First, the police advised me that the decoration could cause traffic accidents, as several cars were almost wrecked when they drove by and the drivers saw my decoration, thinking it was real.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the ladder, which weighed 75 pounds, almost killing herself putting it against my house. Then, she didn’t realize the man hanging from the window ledge was fake until she had climbed all the way to the top. Trust me, she was not happy at all! Amazingly, she was only one of many people who attempted to do that.
My front yard couldn’t take the extra attention either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard before realizing that they had left the road.
So, sadly, my masterpiece has to come down, but I hope you will agree that it was a brilliant idea.
