A city slicker decided that he had had enough of living in the city. The crowded streets, the traffic, the constant noise, all of it was starting to get to him.
One day, he decided that he wanted to become a farmer, so he moved out to the country where he bought a farm.
“How hard can it be to be a farmer”, he thought to himself as he headed to the local co-op where he told the man at the counter, “Give me a hundred baby chickens”.The co-op man complied.
A week later the farmer returned and said, “Give me two hundred baby chickens”.
Again, the man from the co-op complied with his request.
A week later the farmer returned again.
This time he said, “Give me five hundred baby chickens”.
“Wow!”, the man from the co-op replied, “you must really be doing well with your chicken farm!”
“Not really”, said the new farmer with a sigh. “Either I’m planting them too deep, or too far apart!”
