A husband and wife who both worked for the circus, went to an adoption agency.
Social workers there raised doubts about their suitability to be adoptive parents, after all they worked in a circus and that’s not the most normal of situations.
However, the couple produced photos of their fifty foot motor home, which was clean and well maintained and to the social workers surprise, it was equipped with a beautiful nursery.
The social workers next raised concerns about the education that a child would receive while in the couple’s care at the circus.
The circus couple repled, “We have arranged for a full-time tutor, who will teach the child all the usual subjects, along with French, Mandarin and computer skills”.
The social workers were impressed at this, but still expressed concern about a child being raised in a circus environment.
Again ready with their answer, the circus couple explained, “Our Nanny is a certified expert in pediatric care, welfare and diet”.
The social workers were finally satisfied that the circus couple were fit to adopt a child.
They asked the couple one final question, “What age child are you hoping to adopt?”
The circus couple replied, “It doesn’t really matter how old, just as long the kid fits in the cannon”.
