Two Tennessee mechanical engineers, Bubba and Ray, were standing at the base of a flagpole, both looking curiously up towards the sky.
A woman walked by and seeing the pair of them looking up in the air, she became curious and asked them what they were doing.
“We are supposed to find the height of the flagpole”, said Bubba, “but we don’t have a ladder”.
The woman thought for a minute, then took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts on the base of the flagpole and laid the pole down on the ground.
Then, she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, “Eighteen feet, six inches” and walked away.
Ray shook his head and laughed.
“Ain’t that just like a woman! We ask for the height and she gives us the length!”
