Two little boys were playing church outside in the puddles after it had rained, while their mother watched them at play through her kitchen window.
There had been a terrific thunderstorm with torrential rain and all the potholes in the streets and alleys were full of water.
She watched in shock as the older of the two boys, a five year old lad, grabbed his brother by the back of his head and shoved his face into one of the water holes.
As the boy recovered and stood laughing and dripping, the mother opened the kitchen door and ran out towards them in a panic.
“Why on earth did you do that to your little brother?” she said as she shook the older boy’s shoulders in anger, combined with the relief that the younger boy didn’t appear to be any the worse for wear after his experience.
“We were just playing ‘church’ mommy”, the young boy said.
The boy continued… “And I was just baptizing him….. in the name of the Father, the Son and in the hole-he-goes“.
