During Social Studies class at school, the teacher was talking about peoples last names.
She told the class about how in the old days, a person’s last name used to be their occupation.
The teacher gave examples like Baker, which meant the person was a baker for a living. People having the last name of Miller meant that person worked in a flour mill, someone called Butcher used to work as a butcher, and so on.
Then a little boy raised his hand and the teacher said to him, “Do you have an example for the class Tommy?”
The little boy replied, ” Not really miss, it’s more a question”.
“Well, what’s your question?” the teacher asked him.
“I was thinking Miss”, the little boy said, “What did John Hancock do for a living?”
