Police Officer Dibble was patrolling around the town in his patrol car one night, on the lookout for trouble. Well, that’s what police officers do isn’t it, you have to meet your quota of criminals to nab!
Anyhow, while he was patrolling around town, he saw two little old ladies, sitting in the front seat of a Chevrolet convertible that was parked in “Honest John’s” used car lot.
He could see that the car lot was closed, so Officer Dibble drove up alongside the Chevy and asked them, “Are you two ladies trying to steal this car?”
“Certainly not”, one of the ladies said, “we purchased the car this afternoon”.
“Well”, Officer Dibble said, “why don’t you start it up and drive out of here?”
“Oh no officer, we don’t drive”, replied the other little old lady.
She added, “And besides that, we are waiting. We were told that if we bought a car here, we would get screwed”.
