Paddy’s lawn mower broke down and wouldn’t work, so his wife, Siobhan, kept hinting to him that he should get it fixed as the grass on their lawn was starting to get really long.
Somehow though, Paddy always had something else to take care of first, his truck, the car, going fishing etc. There was always something more important for his to do.
Finally, Siobhan thought of a clever way in which she could make her point to her husband.
When Paddy arrived home one day, he found his wife seated in the middle of the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.
He watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.
He was gone only a few minutes.
When he came out again he handed her a toothbrush.
“When you finish cutting the grass”, Paddy said, “you might as well sweep the sidewalk”.
The doctors say that Paddy will walk again, but he will always have a limp.
A final thought: Marriage is a relationship in which one person is always right, and in this case it wasn’t Paddy.
