Paddy and Seamus decided to go for a motorcycle ride one sunny but frosty day in early Spring.
They had been driving through the countryside for a while when Paddy, who was sitting behind Seamus, called out to him.
“Seamus … Seamus … the wind is so cold it’s cutt’n me chest out!”
“Well, Paddy my lad”, said Seamus, who was always full of bright ideas, “why don’t you take your jacket off and turn it from front to back … that’ll block the wind for you”.
So, Paddy took Seamus’ advice and turned his jacket from front to back. He got back on the bike and the two of them went off down the road again.
After a few miles of driving down the country lanes, Seamus turned to talk to Paddy and was horrified to see that Paddy was not there.
Seamus immediately turned the bike around and retraced their route.
After a few miles, he came to a turn in the road and saw a bunch of farmers, all standing around Paddy who was sitting on the ground.
Seamus called to the farmers, “thanks be to heaven, is he alright?”.
“Well”, one of the farmers replied, “he was alright when we found him here .. but since we turned his head back to front .. he hasn’t said a word since!”
