Peppa Pig Snubs Gordon Brown

The popular children’s television cartoon character Peppa Pig has left the Labour Party after being pulled out of an event related to the campaigning for the 6th May General Election.

Peppa Pig, which is aired in 180 countries, was pulled from Labour Party advertising after the production company stated that it wanted to avoid controversy.

Well, in my opinion having a pig, cartoon or not, promoting an election campaign, when politicians are know to talk a lot of “Porky Pies” (Cockney Rhyming Slang for “lies”) is like signing your own death warrant.

Well having a leader like Gordon Brown is pretty much the same thing too I guess.

Noah’s Ark Discovered On Turkish Mountain

A group of evangelical explorers from Turkey and China claim that they have discovered the remains of Noah’s Ark, 4,000 metres up a mountain in Turkey.

They have apparently recovered wood from a structure on the mountain, and carbon dating shows it to be 4,800 years old, about he time that the great flood was thought to have taken place.

The structure they found is comprised of several compartments, with wooden beams, and is thought to have been used for housing animals.

I have heard stories of sightings of wooden structures on Mount Ararat for years, but it would be interesting indeed if this were proves to be true.

The story of Noah and the great flood in the Old Testament is most likely taken from the Sumerian story of Gilgamesh, which is a far more detailed description of a similar event.

Since more and more ancient stories are being found to be based on factual events, why not this one also?

Escaped Circus Elephant Squats In Garden

The residents of a small village in Italy were most surprised to find a 3.5 ton elephant relaxing in their garden.

The elephant, which is appropriately named “Dumbo”, had escaped from a nearby circus and decided to take a break in the garden.

I wonder if the residents were rewarded with a year’s supply of free fertilizer?

I suppose they ought to be grateful too that the elephant walked over to the garden. With a name like Dumbo, it might have tried to take off and crash landed, causing yet another Italian earthquake.

Man Causes Transatlantic Flight To Be Diverted

A Florida man traveling on a Delta Airlines flight from Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris to Atlanta told flight attendants that he had a bomb in his luggage and also that he had a fake passport.

The flight was immediately diverted to Bangor, Maine, where the FBI promptly arrested the man, who it turns out had previously served in the US Air Force and been stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I would have thought that with his background he would have known better than to tell a story like that, and the FBI don’t take kindly to “Peter And The Wolf” type stories, so I am sure he has found his 15 minutes of fame, but will be out of the limelight for a few years.

Firefighters Rescue Dog From Recliner Chair

Firefighters in Chicago were called to a home to rescue a small dog that had become trapped inside a mechanized recliner.

On arrival they apparently found a nurses aid holding on to the chair to help relieve the pressure, allowing the dog to breath.

The chair had to be sawn apart to release the dog.

Well I have heard of a sausage dog, but this is more like a squasage dog!

Man Uses Trash Can Lid To Ward Off Alligator

The alligator was first spotted outside a warehouse door in Clearwater, Florida when the owner first noticed it.

He managed to scare it off using the lid to a trash can, but then it legged it to the front of his neighbor’s house.

The house owner didn’t know that there was an alligator outside until she went to go out and the police, who had by this time arrived, advised her to stay indoors.

Oh the joys of living in Florida…
