When you hear someone call out “Nine” as you walk past, you think it’s a good thing right? That’s not always strictly correct, as you will see from this short story.
A man was meeting up with a friend in a bar, and as he walked in he noticed two pretty girls looking at him.
As he walked past them, he heard one girl say to the other; “Nine”.
Feeling rather pleased with himself, he swaggered over to his buddy at the bar and told him that the girl in the corner had just rated him a nine out of ten.
“Sorry to spoil your evening”, his friend said, “but when I walked in here the girls were speaking German”.
