Two tourists were driving through Louisiana and as they approached the town of Natchitoches, they started arguing about how to pronounce the name of the town.
They argued back and forth over how to spell Natchitoches until they finally stopped for lunch.
As they stood at the counter, one of the tourists asked the blonde girl who was taking orders, “Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are… very slowly?”
The blonde girl leaned over the counter and said, “Burrrrrrrr, gerrrrrrr, Kiiiiing”.
Natchitoches is the oldest town in Louisiana and is apparently pronounced “nah-codish”. You can learn more about the town from Wikipedia.
