Murphy went into his doctor’s office to get his annual medical examination results.
The doctor looked at him and said, “Mr. Murphy. We have had the results of your medical examination back and I’m afraid they aren’t good. Please take a seat if you will”.
Murphy sat down, just a little bit concerned, as you might expect and the doctor continued to talk.
“Do you want the bad news first or the very bad news?”
Murphy shrugged his shoulders and said, “Well I guess I’ll have the bad news first doctor, what is it?”
The doctor replied, “Well, the bad news is, you only have 24 hours to live”.
Murphy’s face dropped, he looked distraught and said to the doctor, “24 hours to live? That’s horrible! What could be worse than that? What’s the VERY bad news?”
The doctor folded his hands and sighed, “I’m sorry, but the very bad news is… I’ve been trying to contact you since yesterday”.
