My son Thomas who is four knows all the letters of the alphabet and is now learning to spell at Kindergarten.
He loves to practice his spelling with a set of magnetic letters that we have on our refrigerator and examples of his work are proudly displayed for all to see in the kitchen:
C-A-T
D-O-G
D-A-D and
M-O-M.
One morning while getting ready for kindergarten, Thomas bounded into the living room with his arms outstretched.
In his hands were three magnetic letters: G-O-D.
“Look what I spelled, Mom!” Thomas exclaimed, with a huge smile on his face.
“That’s wonderful!” I praised him. “Why don’t you put them on the fridge so Daddy can see when he gets home tonight”.
“That Catholic education is certainly having an impact”, I thought to myself, happily thinking how grown up he was getting and what a lovely attitude he had as well.
Just then, a small voice called out from the kitchen.
“Mom? How do you spell ‘zilla?'”
