I had this long time friend who always seemed to lean slightly to the left all the time.
It used to bother me, just looking at him as he would always look like he was leaning, so I suggested he went to see a doctor and have his legs checked out.
For years, he refused to do it, he just told me I was crazy.
But several weeks ago, my friend finally made an appointment to see the doctor and sure enough, the doctor discovered that his left leg was 1/4 inch shorter than his right leg.
With a quick bit of orthopaedic surgery, he was cured. Now both legs are exactly the same length and he no longer leans.
“So”, I said to him afterwards, “You didn’t believe me when I told you a doctor could fix your leg”.
“I know”, he replied, with a shameful look on his face. He turned to me, smiled and said, “But now I stand corrected”.
