While he was on a walk through the woods with a friend, a man noticed a large black bird that was perched in a nearby tree.
“You know”, the man said to his friend, “I’ve always wondered what the difference is between a raven and a crow”.
“You have to count the pinion feathers on the bird’s wings”, his companion explained. “If there are four pinion feathers, it’s a crow. If there are five pinion feathers, it’s a raven.”
“Really?” the man said, although he knew he didn’t have a clue about what his companion was talking about.
“Oh, yes”, his companion replied. “It’s just a matter of a pinion”.
