At an Italian wedding ceremony in a large Catholic church, the priest asked the congregation if anyone had anything to say concerning the union of the bride and groom.
It was their time to stand up and talk, or forever hold their peace.
The moment of utter silence was broken by the sound of heels on the tiled floor of the church.
The congregation turned around to see a young beautiful woman walking up the aisle from the back of the church.
She was carrying a young child in her arms, and she started walking slowly towards the priest.
Suddenly, the tranquility of the wedding ceremony turned to chaos in an instant.
The bride turned and slapped the groom.
The groom’s mother fainted.
The groomsmen started giving each other looks and wondering how best to help save the situation.
The priest, in a quivering voice, asked the woman, “Can you tell us why you came forward? What do you have to say?”
The woman replied, “We can’t hear in the back……..”
