This is a classic Irish joke about an Irish toast.
After dinner, Paddy raised his glass and toasted his girlfriend with the words “May you be in Heaven a half-hour before the devil knows you’re dead!”
“What on earth does that mean Paddy?” she asked him.
“That my dear, is an authentic Irish toast” Paddy replied.
“Oh! In that case”, she said, “Here’s to bread, eggs and cinnamon”.
“Bread, eggs and cinnamon? What the heck is that?” Paddy asked.
His girlfriend replied, “That’s French toast.”
