An Irish oil worker was on a job in the frozen north of Alaska.
It was forty below zero one winter night (a rather mild night by Alaskan standards) and Patrick was as usual drinking at his local saloon.
The bartender said to him, “Patrick, you owe me quite a bit on your tab, it’s starting to build up, so it is”.
“Sure’n I’m flat broke this week”, Patrick replied.
“That’s ok”, the bartender said. “I’ll just write your name and the amount you owe me right here on the wall”.
“But I’m not wantin’ any of me friends to see that”, Patrick replied.
“Don’t worry, they won’t see it”, the bartender said, “I’ll just hang your parka over it until you pay me”.
