A successful investment counselor decided that it was time to go out on her own and so she set up her own financial counseling company.
Since she was shrewd and diligent, the company quickly became very popular and business kept building up, until she realized that she needed to hire an assistant counselor.
So, she put out some recruitment ads and began to interview the young lawyers who applied for the position.
“As I am sure you can understand”, she started off with one of the first applicants, “in a business like this, our personal integrity must be beyond question”.
She leaned forward towards the young applicant and asked him, “Mr. Johnson, are you an honest lawyer?”
“Honest?” replied the job applicant. “Let me tell you something about honesty. Why, I am so honest, that my father lent me $15,000 for my education and I paid back every penny the minute I tried my very first case”.
“Wow that is impressive”, she said. “By the way, what sort of case was that?”
The lawyer squirmed in his seat and admitted, “My father sued me for the money”.
