The other day I bumped into a good friend of mine who is a genetic engineer and he was really excited to tell me about his job.
His latest project was the splicing together of DNA from different species of birds.
First, he told me that he had combined the DNA from a pheasant and a hen and it worked! He called it a “Phen”.
Next he said that he successfully combined a pheasant and a goose. He called it a Phoose”.
His latest success, he explained, was finally being able to mix the DNA of a pheasant and a duck. He called it… “Charlie”.
