So these three dead bodies all turned up at a mortuary in Dublin and what was really bizarre was that they all had enormous smiles on their faces.
The coroner examined them all and then called the police to tell them what he believed had happened.
“The first body is that of Jacques Dupont” the coroner said.
“He was as you might have guessed by his name a Frenchman. Jacque was 60 years old and died of heart failure while making love to his 20 year old mistress, which explains the enormous smile on his face”.
“The second body is a Scotsman, Hamish McGraw, aged 25”.
The coroner went on, “you may recall reading in the press last year that he won £50,000 on the lottery. Sadly he spent it all on whisky and the cause of death was alcohol poisoning, hence the smile”.
The Police Inspector asked, “Well, what about the third body?”
“Ah”, said the coroner, “this is a most unusual case. Patrick O’Shaunessy, an Irishman aged 30, who was struck by lightning”.
“Well why is he smiling then?” inquired the Inspector.
“He thought he was having his picture taken”.
