Never trust your wife to give you an early morning wake up call after you have had an argument.
Richard and Lynnette had been married for a few years and were having some problems at home, the result being that they were giving each other the “silent treatment.”
After yet another domestic episode, Richard realized that he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00am, as he needed to be up early in the morning to drive with some pals to a golf match.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence and “lose the war”, Richard wrote on a piece of paper, “Please wake me at 5:00am.”
The next morning, Richard woke up, only to discover it was 9:00am and that his friends would have left for the golf course without him.
He was furious, and was about to go and see why his wife hadn’t awakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table.
The paper said, “It is 5:00am. Wake up.”
Men simply are not equipped for these kinds of contests.
