Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier. What a hero from the days of the old Wild West.
Davy Crockett was a favourite of mine, from the days when Westerns ruled television back in the 1950’s and 1960’s, when television shows were only in black and white, or in our case more like 50 shades of grey, which took up to 5 minutes to appear after you turned the television on.
But did you know that Davy Crockett, the King of the Wild Frontier and a hero of The Alamo had three ears?
I kid you not, he actually had three ears.
He had his right ear, his left ear, and his wild front ear.
Ok so I lied, but I bet you laughed didn’t you? If not I’m sure you let our a terrible groan and are now just going to share this with some friends to make up for such a rotten joke!
If you are old like me, really old that is, you might recall the television series about Davy Crockett, with the theme tune The Ballad Of Davy Crockett. I thought I would share this with you in case you haven’t heard it, or wanted to again for old times sake.
