A local artist had a number of his paintings on display in a local art gallery and after they had been there a few weeks he was curious as to the valuation of his artwork.

So, one day he dropped by the gallery and asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings.

“I have good news and bad news,” the gallery owner replied.

The artist asked the gallery owner to explain what he meant.

The gallery owner responded: “The good news is that a gentleman inquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings.”

“That’s wonderful,” the artist exclaimed. “What’s the bad news?”

“The guy was your doctor.”
