Early one morning, my husband, who works at a funeral home, woke me to say that he had severe abdominal pain.
So, we both got dressed and got in the car, I drove and we rushed him to the emergency room at the local hospital.
They examined him and performed some tests to try and determine the source of the pain.
My husband decided not to have me call in sick for him until we knew what was wrong.
When the results came back, the nurse informed us that, “true to our suspicions”, he was suffering from a kidney stone.
I turned to my husband and asked him, “Would you like me to call the funeral home now?”
With a shocked look on her face, the nurse turned to me and snapped, “Honey, your husband’s not that sick!”
