A Texan farmer went to Australia for a vacation and while he was there, he met an Australian farmer.
The two of them got talking about farming and the differences between their two countries.
You must have heard of the expression “Everything is bigger in Texas”. Well, this Texan farmer was keen to brag about his homeland to the Australian farmer, just to prove that Texas is the “best place in the world”.
The Australian farmer showed off his big wheat field and the Texan said, “Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large as that”.
Then they walked around the Australian farmer’s ranch a little and the Australian farmer showed off his herd of cattle.
The Texan immediately said, “We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows”.
The conversation, meanwhile, almost died, with the Australian farmer not wanting to show off any more of the prime features of his farm, only to be shot down by the Texan’s bragging.
Suddenly, the Texan saw a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field.
He asked the Australian farmer, “And what the heck are those?”
The Australian farmer replied with an incredulous look, “Why, don’t you have any grasshoppers in Texas?”
